All about Train Travelling and Unique Experiences by Train
Train travel is quite an experience in itself. It is relaxing, comfortable and a great way to meet people. It is the greener way to go, reducing the carbon footprint by not flying. As well, you see more when you don’t fly (not to mention the turbulence!) – beautiful parts of the country that you travel through which you wouldn’t otherwise experience. Add a touch of adventure to your relaxing, comfortable and scenic journey, you have a quintessential odyssey.
I enjoy my train journeys immensely and with great pleasure I share my experiences of train travel with you along with recommendations for some timeless great train journeys.

The UK has one of the best rail networks in the world. It is well connected from city to city and a swift journey along beautiful countryside is quite an experience to be had. However, the train network is a little complex with 28 national train companies operating throughout the UK. Still trains but it is the First TransPennine Express (FTPE) that has a piece of my heart, perhaps probably because of their cheerful service and Blue is one of my favourite colours!Recommended Read – First TransPennine Express

I have a few choices. Search Google flights because they offer very competitive prices. You could also try Opodo for cheap airfares. For special experiences, go to On the Beach and Jet2Holidays. My all time favourite has been Qatar Airways for long-haul flights for the comfort and their first-class service. I use British Airways as well. For all other global deals >> kiwi.com
My favourite website for booking hotels is booking.com – I love their flexible cancellation policy which means I’m covered till the last minute. I also like that the totals show up for the whole stay so it helps me budget better. Other favourites of mine are Millennium & Copthorne Group of Hotels and Resorts for their consistent high quality accommodations and service. You could also take a look at the Radisson Hotels chain that caters for all budget. For accommodations in UK that has a personal touch and affordable luxury, stay at Hotel du Vin.
