Even though a new larger car park is now open, I advise you to get there early if you’re visiting in the summer months to secure your space. If you find the main car park full, there’s additional parking in front of St Finnans Church, and a community car park which is motorhome friendly. However, these car parks are often packed in the summer.

The service from Mallaig to Fort William in the afternoon takes about 2 hours 7 minutes, whereas the late service takes a little less than 2 hours.

When does the train pass the viaduct? The Hogwarts Express in the morning usually crosses the viaduct between 10:30 AM and 11:00 AM. On my visit I witnessed the crossing at about 10:48 AM. In the afternoon, the crossing generally occurs between 3:00 PM and 3:30 PM.
