RESOURCES ABOUT LAKE COMO OR LAKE GARDA OR BOTH

To fully appreciate the towns and villages in Lake Como or Lake Garda, read these articles:

While I have not written about all of the towns, these articles are a good starting point to further understand the ambiance of these two Italian lakes. These articles are in-depth and have lots of information and tips along with recommendations on the best things to do and places to stay.

I would highly recommend using the boat as a primary means of transport from getting to and from the lake-shore towns or villages. If you do decide to take the boat, just know that schedules differ between the summer and winter months. During the winter months, there are fewer boats and the hydrofoil doesn’t operate. So journeys can be longer with the car/passenger ferry.

Resources about Lake Como

For resources about Lake Como, read about Bellagio, Varenna, Como city and the off-beat gem of Argegno.

Not sure how long you plan to visit, but I have an itinerary here about how you can spend 5 days in the enchanting Lake Como full of ideas which you may like. The itinerary is easily adaptable to suit for two, three or four days.

If you are wondering about how to get around Lake Como, I have you covered! Read about my experiences and how to get around Lake Como with or without a car, including which side of the Lake Como shores is best. For the best experience of Lake Como, take the boat. The public boats, both the hydrofoil (high-speed) and the car-ferry run on a seasonal schedule and you’ll find them to be a convenient way to get around this Italian paradise.

However, if you don’t have much time and you’re here for just a few days, the most rewarding way to experience Lake Como along with the towns and villages is to opt for a private boat ride.

This private boat ride is really good as it can accommodate up to 8 people and has an itinerary of highlights. If you wish to adapt the itinerary to suit, you can do so as well by designing your own schedule of places to visit or spend more time at one destination instead of another. In this way you don’t miss any of the highlights and get to see these from the waters which truly is a remarkable experience. You can even swim in the clear waters of Lake Como at Isola Comacina. Totally exhilarating! If you would like to give this experience a go, book this highly rated boat ride exclusively for you and your group.

Well, I loved both destinations! Having had the pleasure of experiencing both Lake Como and Lake Garda, I must confess that I have a fondness for both. The lakeside atmosphere of both destinations is undeniably captivating, creating a sense of tranquility and serenity.

However, if I were to choose, my heart leans towards the quietness and elegance of Lake Como. I enjoyed every meal and every glass of red. Absolutely loved taking the boats and visiting the lake side towns and villages. I stood in awe at the sight of towering mountains and fishermen villages rising up from the waters. Clear, aqua shimmering waters, snow-peaked mountains and the swaying of boats were just surreal.

There is an enchanting allure to the refined ambiance and picturesque beauty that surrounds Lake Como, making it a truly special and memorable place for me.
